French Petite Writing Table
18th Century
Circa 1740 Charming writing table with *pull up upholstered fire screen, two (2) hidden drawers and two (2) desk drawers standing on hoof feet from Provence. Height in the back 36in Height 28 1/2in, Width 27 1/2in, Depth 19in *Legend has it that in the Mid and Late 18th Century the ladies wore wax makeup and homes were heated by natural fireplaces; the screen was used to keep the wax makeup from melting in the winter months. $1,200
